Relaying comments: Reflections on 22nd TIFF (Part10):

" I realized that the countries that are in the regions of Asia have different ethnic groups and cultures, and have a very different perspective in the themes they choose for their film making. I believe that some Asian countries are making films based on their politics or their ethnic identities. I was reminded that their film making was very different from our Japanese film and also made me reexamine what the film making meant to me.
Japan, in general, tends to base their subject matter of the films on their personal problems. By watching the Asian films, I felt that the Japanese film makers should switch their perspectives towards the outside world.
Appreciating the Asian films at the film festival was a very good experience for me ".
