Synopsis
Mika, who was abandoned by her mother at birth and grew up in an orphanage, is now an adult and finds her biological mother, Naoko. Naoko lives with her kind husband and their only child, Ayano. For a few days, Mika watches them from a distance... And she makes a decision.

Naoki Hashimoto
Hashimoto started his career in 1989. In 1992 he established Wilco Co., Ltd. As a producer of Tony Takitani (2004) he won Special Jury Prize, the International Federation of Film Critics Award, and Junior Jury Award at the 57th Locarno International Film Festival. He directed short films, Catch ball (2005) and Kimi to aruita michi-You Are the One- (2005). Birthright is his first feature film.
